LogoNation was founded by husband and wife Denny and Jennifer Watson in August 1998 in Hillsborough, NC. After buying a manual table top pad printer at a Columbus, Ohio trade show they started out printing and selling promotional items such as pens, key chains, and magnets.
As most new business owners experience, those first few years were full of challenges. One of those early challenges was learning how competitive the promotional products industry is. And, it wasn’t long before they realized they would have to come up with a niche product with fewer competitors in order to survive.
After they noticed someone wearing a 5k race t-shirt during a late season beach trip in 1998 the idea for that niche product was born.
They took the idea of a t-shirt with business sponsors printed on the back of it and combined it with a community directory concept to develop the idea for a community t-shirt...The Original CommuniTee. After learning how to screen print at a school in Phoenix, AZ in December 1998 and then mulling around the idea for several months they test sold the first CommuniTee in Natchez, MS in February 1999. Amazingly it was a big success the first day.
However, because of other business interests that didn’t prove very successful LogoNation only partially focused on CommuniTee sales for several years and didn’t begin focusing exclusively on the CommuniTee until 2005, when we really began to grow.
Since 2005 LogoNation has grown by at least 15% a year. We have been recognized by Inc Magazine as one of the fastest growing private companies in America for the last several years in a row. And, our goal is to continue that growth by developing the full potential of the CommuniTee and developing other community oriented products to help promote business pride and community spirit in small towns across America.
LogoNation is now powered by HALO Branded Solutions. Halo acquired LogoNation from founders Denny and Jennifer Watson in November of 2016.
